What an awesome day we had today hiking up to the Mt Macedon Memorial Cross. Before we hit the track we stopped at 4 paws and more pet store and grabbed a new Ezy Dog harness with saddle bags and a new Ezi Dog fold away bowl. I thought Ayla would have some trouble with this harness as she sometimes is a bit funny with trying new things and I have always used a check chain or off lead, but it was like she knew that this meant hiking! She might as well have shouted saddle me up! Ayla loved wearing this harness which is great because from now on she can carry her own poo bags!
Whilst walking up the track there were so many beautiful things to look at such as Butterflies and Kookaburras not to mention the lush green ferns that you make your way through. Now despite all the beautiful surrounds, I am not naive enough not to be cautious off snakes. It was a cooler day and there is plenty of foot traffic going through the track so my concern for snakes was eased slightly by this... slightly..
We stopped at the top and had a break and a big drink of water. Ayla met some new friends and barked her deep loud play with me bark at a few more!
It was time to make our way back down the mountain and I decided to run most of this, wow what a core work out! Ayla enjoyed having me go a bit faster as she was not having to run forward and then back, she stayed nice and close as if she was going to catch me if/when I fell! Well that's what a good coach should do!!
Thanks for a fun day Coach Ayla!
